ABOUT ROBIN CLARE
Robin Clare is a freelance artist, animator, and illustrator originally from Jamaica and now based in Australia. With 15 years of industry experience, she has gained international recognition as a leading figure in Jamaican visual culture.
Her work explores themes of cultural identity and sense of place, particularly in relation to music, dance, and creative expression. She specialises in creating visually striking content for arts, music, and dance brands worldwide, infusing each project with a vibrant tropical flair and dancehall influence.
Having collaborated closely with Jamaican dance communities both on the island and across the diaspora, Robin maintains a strong connection to her cultural roots while working globally. Her artwork documents and examines fifty years of Jamaican dance and popular culture through painting, surface design, animation, installation, and print media.
Robin’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Kingston Biennial, the Kennedy Center (Washington DC), the Puma headquarters during the 2012 London Olympics, the National Gallery of Jamaica and National Gallery West, the Museum of Latin American Art (Los Angeles), Art Week Miami, Vivid Sydney, and Art Space (Auckland, NZ), among others.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with a wide range of clients — from record companies and clothing brands to independent DJs and choreographers. Her portfolio includes album artwork, animated music videos and visualisers, visual content for tours and brand campaigns, logos and branding, surface and clothing design, and gig and tour posters.
